I really enjoy the art of creating beautiful and bridal portraits!
Beautiful Antrim 1844 Wedding Photography
We had the good fortune to photograph Nicole & Garrison’s wedding last Sunday at the spectacular Inn at Perry Cabin Inn located in St. Michaels Maryland. For those of you that don’t know, part of the Wedding Crasher’s movie was filmed there. Perry Cabin happens to be one of our all time favorite venues to work. The people are so friendly and the setting is amazing!
Nicole and Garrison are some of the nicest people we have ever worked with as well. They treated us like good friends and I hope we returned the favor. Garrison was jokingly telling me how my wife, and assistant, Laurel, was keeping me on a short leash during the wedding. I thought Garrison was really funny and we had a great time.
Nicole and Garrison were really patient with us on this first shot below. My off camera flash wouldn’t fire, so I grabbed a video light but that started smoking and shut off. I had one spare video light and luckily it worked and voila …. There was a storm coming in. This was actually one of the last shots we took before going in for the reception.
Nicole’s room at Perry Cabin had an unbelievable bathroom. You can’t see much of it in the shot below however. Nicole’s beautiful green/blue eyes struck me in this shot.
Below: I scoped out a background in the dining room that I just had to use. I pre-visualized this shot before we started. My assistant was a huge help on this one holding my light. It is so rewarding to have an idea, set it up, execute it, and to have turn out so well!
Below: This is a great angle for Nicole. Her eyes and hair look fantastic, and she looks so natural and beautiful!
Below: My new friend, the handsome Garrison.
Below: In the back of Perry Cabin, Garrison was looking cool and admiring his new beautiful bride, Nicole!
Below: These guys just look amazing in this shot…bravo!
Below: Right on! What a good looking happy couple.
Below: The boys are having some fun…
Below: Garrison almost gets handcuffed!
Below: Oh yes…..the beautiful ladies…..they really looked gorgeous!
The ladies really looked stunning!
Below: A very proud father walks his daughter down the aisle.
Below: Awesome Inn at Perry Cabin water side view for the ceremony.
There were some very real emotions expressed during the ceremony and after.
Below: Garrison’s parents. Such nice people!
Below: I love capturing special once in a lifetime moments like this hug below between bride and groom’s mother!
Below: Garrison hugging the bride’s father.
Below: Nicole and her two handsome brothers.
Below: We really had a lot of fun doing the family portraits, and I am very happy with how they turned out. Enjoy!
Below: I love, love this one!
You guys were so much to photograph!
Below: Love, love this one too…they look so real, and natural….. i love em all though
Below: Grandmom had a great sense of humor and really enjoyed herself.
Below: I love this portrait of Garrison’s parents.
Below: Did we have fun or what!
Below: Drinks before the reception.
Below: The reception was room was suited for a small group and really beautifully done. The cameo on the blue band around the flowers has special meaning to the family and I did my best to feature is as often as possible. I love the cool light coming in from the windows in the back contrasted by the warm tungsten lighting in the front. I really enjoyed creating photographic art from the images I created. This could be a painting! I think I might print this on a large canvas and hang it on the wall.
Below: The cameo featured again shooting at f2 and getting a perfect sharp focus on the cameo as everything quickly fades out of focus around it.
Below; Nicole kissing her dad after a fantastic speach!
Below: A special moment between Garrison and his dad ….. this is one beautiful father and son moment never to be forgotten!
Below: I noticed Garrison’s dad gazing at his name tag. I was very touched by this moment and so glad that we got it on digital film. This moment really made me think how I am going to feel when my son and daughter get married. I’ll look back and think how quickly the time flew by. I’ll remember when they were little, and I’ll miss those days. Time marches on…..
Below: Warm and cool light creating beauty..
Below: Nicole, and big brother.
Below: Look carefully in the flowers, what do you see?
Hugs and kisses were shared…
Below: Gifts were shared…
Below: More toasts..
Below: I just thought Nicole looked gorgeous in this shot!
Below: Notice the piece of cake is missing….. warm and cool, light, and mirrors, cake and flowers…. so nice!
Below: Nicole and Garrison starting their new life together. I’m sure they have a wonderful life ahead of them, and I wish our new friends all the best in their journey!

Enjoy!
It was a beautiful sunny day at Perry Cabin, on the eastern shore of St Michaels Maryland.
Katie was getting ready with the ladies.
Katie looked so beautiful! Check out that fabulous necklace.
Garrett was getting ready with the guys.
Garrett looked very handsome too.
Katie is almost ready to be escorted to the alter.
The gorgeous sky, boats and water always make a stunning foil for the outdoors Perry Cabin ceremony. I loved this outdoor wedding ceremony.
These guys looked so happy!
The boys looked very handsome.
Katie was just stunning!
This is one of my favorite shots of the girls. I just love it of all three ladies! They are all gorgeous!
It’s such an honor to have the opportunity to take pictures of this sportscaster legend, Pat Summerall. For many years Pat partnered with John Madden and was the voice of Sunday afternoon NFL football. I certainly remember many Sunday afternoons enjoying Pat’s commentary. Thanks for all those great years Pat!
What a beautiful couple! We found a tree lined path where the sun was peaking through the trees in the background and caught a little rim light on their hair. I love this shot!
When Katie saw this image on the back of my camera she said “This is so Garrett….” I really had fun getting to know Katie and Garrett. These two are so warm and friendly, but also so funny! They had me laughing constantly. We raelly had a blast. Maybe I like them so much because I’m a conservative too!
The light get’s really wonderful just before sunset and we tried to squeeze in a few before going to the reception.
The reception room was UNBELIEVABLE! I hope my pictures do it justice. The decorations are some of the most beautiful that I have had the opportunity of capturing. When the band saw the room they too were speechless, and I imagine, like me, they have seen quite a few decorated rooms before. Enjoy the shots!
Whenever possible I always love setting a back light to rim light my couple.
Let the party begin. Katie is a dancer. She is a very fun lady, and she got this place rockin!
Did I already mention that this party was a blast? Man this guy really rocked the house!
Im laughing as I look at this image and remember the fun night. There was a wonderful selection of cigars in another room, and some of the folks were enjoying a cigar outside, as the girls were clowning around front and center.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we have the honor of shooting the future wedding of this great looking couple below someday ………. hint hint
!
I see my good friends Shelley and Mitch in the background dancing up a storm. We had the fortune of covering their wedding at the Annapolis Naval Academy couple of years ago and it was so nice to see them again. I took alot more great shots of them that will be in the online gallery too.
Go girl!
Katie rocks!
I captured Garrett just before he collapsed on the floor due to some old sports injuries. The party was really rockin and Garrett was doing his thing in a big way. I hope he healed up quickly the next day.
This guy singing to Katie was incredible. He sounded like Ray Charles. I mean seriously, the band Spectrum is very hot band, but this guy is really a stand out. He’s phenomenal! It’s rare to have a great band at a wedding so this was a special treat! Thanks so much for having us. Everyone was so warm and friendly and I feel like we made alot of new friends.
We want to thank Katie, Garrett, their family and friends, the awesome crew at Perry Cabin, the fabulous band “Spectrum”, and all the wonderful vendors who decorated the venue and provided services. This was truly an fabulous wedding, and we wish Katie and Garrett all the best in life’s journey together. Trust me, I can tell they are going to have a lot of fun together in the years ahead.

Mark,
I am thrilled with the pictures that you took of my daughter Rebecca and I am really impressed with how you were able to capture each Potomac School students personality. I have never seen a nicer collection of school photographs, ever. Thank you for suggesting that we include outside shots. The color is amazing. Hopefully you will come back next year earlier in the school year so that your beautiful photographs can be included in the Potomac School senior year book pages. Also I can’t forget to mention how great it was to work with your lovely wife Laurel. She made everything run on schedule. Thanks again.
