We had the opportunity to do the photography for several graduating high school seniors from Potomac School in McLean VA last weekend and it really was a great experience. All of the young ladies and young men were truly a joy. I really got into trying to capture a variety of looks in a short period of time and bringing out each individual personality. We felt like we made many new friends and look forward to doing it again, and again.
It was pretty cool to find out that several of the seniors are interested in photography, music, oil painting (like me) and other interests. I’m sorry that I didn’t get a chance to visit the school’s art show while I was there because I found out that two of the seniors have their own photography in the show. They all seem destined for greatness and it was a pleasure to get to know them a little bit and have some fun with the camera.
The parents were great too, and we would like to thank Barb Wheeler for being the driving force and inspiration behind making this happen.
I also met some of the alumni while we were there. Dave Moses, I believe this is the proper spelling, shared that he played the drums the night before with two international celebrity musicians at Potomac school the night before. These two guys play bass and drums with the Gregg Allman Band and with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. Wow! The Potomac School seems to be an incredible opportunity for students.

Monica & Chris Wedding Burtonsville, MD

Monica and Chris were high school sweethearts who met in English class “getting stuck doing a project together”, and Monica chose the Resurrection Catholic church because she had worked there prior to graduating from college and becoming a teacher. Monica chose a theme of Cherry Blossoms for her wedding and the church and reception were decorated beautifully with them. Primero que todo Felicitaciones por compartir las fotos y esos momentos con nosotros.
Mucha suerte y bendiciones para ti y Chris, que dios los bendiga siempre ahora y en el futuro a la familia que van atener.
Me alegro mucho saber que eres Católica, muy bonita la iglesia, las flores, decoraciones y los invitados y familiares se ve que disfrutaron mucho. Recibir las fotos me recordo mi matrimonio hace 24 años, eso gracias al amor, la paciencia, el dialogo y la comprensión.
Me gusto mucho la decoración del ponque (los Colombianos llamamos ponque al de las grandes celebraciones, al que otros llaman pastel, torta o bizcocho), se ve que estaba delicioso.Nuevamente felicidades y suerte, de todo corazon, de una amiga de trabajo.

Mark did such a great job capturing our special day. When I look at the pictures they tell our story. They are so fun to work with and the pictures look amazing! I could see a few of my pictures just a few days after the wedding! I am so happy we choose Mark to be our photographer.

I am thrilled with the pictures that you took of my daughter Rebecca and I am really impressed with how you were able to capture each Potomac School students personality. I have never seen a nicer collection of school photographs, ever. Thank you for suggesting that we include outside shots. The color is amazing. Hopefully you will come back next year earlier in the school year so that your beautiful photographs can be included in the Potomac School senior year book pages. Also I can’t forget to mention how great it was to work with your lovely wife Laurel. She made everything run on schedule. Thanks again.
